Oceanfront Park
2-acre Oceanfront Park is on First Street
South between 5th & 6th Avenues South. The park includes four
sheltered picnic areas, an educational kiosk system, a sand
volleyball court, and a small children's playground. Two dune
walkovers, one a handicapped-accessible ramp, offer easy access
to the beach. The park has a large circular open space surrounded
by pathways planted with vegetation native to North. A bronze
statue, Sea Express, is the focal point of the park. The statue
of a young boy riding the back of a dolphin was created by sculptress
Kristen Visbal, and symbolizes the city's dedication to preserving
public access to the ocean for future generations.
